Policy 7211 Compliance
The WVDE reminds schools that Policy 7211, Resolution of Formal Complaints, establishes a formal process for members of the public to submit complaints alleging violations of state law by schools or county boards of education. The latest version of this policy—effective July 12, 2025—includes clear procedures at the school, county, and state levels, along with defined timelines for response and resolution. Please ensure that complaint forms are published and accessible on your county's website. Superintendents and school administrators should be prepared to receive, review, and promptly respond to formal complaints in accordance with the policy. Updated complaint forms and a guidance document are available online. For questions or assistance, email Accountability Coordinator Angela Urling. The form can be found under documents.
