Shout out to rising senior, McKenna Wilson! We checked on McKenna last week to hear about her extraordinary week as she attended WV Rhododendron Girls State. The 2025 Girls State week took place on the campus of Davis & Elkins College.
McKenna shared, "I’m having the time of my life. I have made so many friends while being here. I have learned how to public speak, lead confidently, and understand government proceedings. I have also learned a lot about the American Legion Auxiliary, specifically how and why we should honor our veterans. I had the opportunity to meet so many wonderful people like Kris Warner, WV State Treasurer, and retired Fire Chief Jan Radar."
McKenna served as the Attorney General for her community at Girls State, and worked on the "Rhododendron Daily," the Girls State newspaper. McKenna expressed her appreciation for the opportunity to attend and recommends the honor of participating, next summer, to any upcoming junior girls.
