Afterschool Credit Recovery applications are now available. Students who have failed a core class needed for graduation (English, Math, Science, Social Studies) in a previous semester and are not currently enrolled in that course for the Fall semester are eligible to apply for credit recovery.
To apply, students must meet with their school counselor (Mr. Mahon or Mrs. Himes) to receive an application and discuss which courses need to be recovered.
Attached you will find detailed information regarding credit recovery, including dates, expectations, and eligibility requirements. Please note that it is the student's responsibility to obtain a credit recovery application.
Applications are due by Friday, October 17th.

π Grafton High School β Hispanic Honor Society Induction Ceremony 2025 πͺπΈ
Yesterday, the GHS Sociedad Honoraria HispΓ‘nica β CapΓtulo AndrΓ©s Bello celebrated its annual Induction Ceremony. β¨
We proudly welcomed our new members:
Jax Austin, Zheng Chen, Liya Clemm, Jordan Cox, Kaydence Grogg, Corinne Miller, Gracie Poling, Noah Smith, Ciarra Spring, and Bailey Weaver. π
Our ceremony was led by President Jaylin Summers, along with the support of our dedicated officers and returning members:
Anna Poling (Vice President), Carly Vandergrift (Treasurer), Alexa Swyck (Historian), and Sophia Austin (Secretary). π

Guests enjoyed an inspiring motivational speech from Mallory Brown, a former Spanish student and 2017 GHS graduate, and a beautiful musical performance by Viktoria PΓ©rez, who sang Caballo Viejo and Moliendo CafΓ©. πΆπ
The ceremony closed with the poem βCaminante no hay caminoβ by Antonio Machado and the traditional oath, reminding us that learning another language builds bridges of friendship and understanding across cultures. πβ€οΈ
After the ceremony, everyone enjoyed a reception with delicious Hispanic food and desserts lovingly prepared by our returning members. π½οΈπ
A big thank you to our President and officers, all members, GHS staff, parents, Sra. Shumaker, and guests for making this event truly special. π

π Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month! π
Grafton High School Spanish students are celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with fun and cultural activities! πͺπΈπ
One of the highlights was a Dance Therapy Workshop, where students learned and experienced different traditional Latin dances β cumbia, salsa, and merengue. ππΊ
They also got to experience βLa Hora Locaβ (The Crazy Hour), a fun and energetic tradition at many Hispanic parties where, around 2 a.m., everyone puts on masks, colorful necklaces, and follows a leader in a lively celebration that lasts until dawn! ππΆ
We are proud of our students for embracing culture through movement, music, and joy!

This is a reminder to all who signed up for the Financial Aid Workshop that the main entrance doors will open at 4:45 pm and the event will be held in the GHS Library on the 2nd floor beginning promptly at 5:00 pm. Please be sure to bring electronic devices to fill out the FAFSA. Students need to have their school issued iPads.
