Today is National Bus Driver Appreciation Day - Grafton High School would like to extend our appreciation to all of our Taylor County Bus Drivers for all that they do for our students and families. You all are greatly appreciated!


Any students in grades 10-12 who are interested in the Aviation Maintenance program at Pierpont are encouraged to attend the field trip on March 7th to explore what this program has to offer. We will be given a tour of the facility and opportunities to ask questions about the program. Please see Mrs. Himes (Wyatt) if you are interested in attending. Permission forms are due next week.


The GHS Entertainers will perform this Saturday at Robert C. Byrd High School. Come out and support our wonderful performers! Good luck to our Entertainers!

This week we celebrate National FFA Week.

Taylor County FFA has REGIONAL CHAMPIONS.
The Northcentral FFA Regional Scholastic competition happened today at Marion CountyTechnical Center and Taylor County continued the tradition of top notch competitors. Kellen Lambert won the Prepared Public Speaking contest with her speech on “Fake Meat.” The Parliamentary Procedure team of Paige Moore, Presider, Macy Johnson, Mary Dom, Lillie Crimm, Cheyenne Foster, Kellen Lambert and Jennah Charlton, alternate, won the regional event. Both the team and Kellen earned the right to move on to state competition this summer during State FFA Convention. Great job ladies! Let’s bring home more STATE TITLES!


Tonight Will Angus was recognized for holding every swim record at Grafton High School. In addition, Will placed 7th in the 100 back stroke and 11th in the 100 fly this week at the state tournament. Congratulations Will. Pictured with Will is head coach Heather England.



Congrats to Bearcat wrestlers Jeremiah Mitchell and Seth Horne. Both wrestlers punched their ticket to states today. Jeremiah finished 4th in the region. Seth finished 3rd in the region.

The Grafton 5 Mile run provides a challenging race course, as well as pre and post race fun for the whole family. Sponsored by the Grafton High School track teams, the 5 mile course begins and ends on the track at Grafton High school. The event will kick off with a half mile kids fun run, followed by the 5 Mile Run and 2 Mile Walk. Post race refreshments will be available for runners and walkers after the event.

Open to high school seniors from schools in Mon, Harrison, Marion, Taylor, or Preston counties. This is for students pursuing a 2- or 4- year degree in STEM, business, safety, or a skilled trade. GPA could be considered but is not a determining factor. Three awards will be given in the amounts of $3,000, $2,000, and $1,000 based on the discretion of the Women in Novelis committee at Novelis Fairmont.
