Permission Forms are available in the main office and students can sign up on the bulletin board located in the ramp area leading to the cafeteria.

The American Legion Boys State is among the most respected educational programs of government instruction for high school students. Each participant becomes a part of the operation of his city, county and state government.

On Monday, January 30th, the counseling department will be taking all 9th grade students to the United Technical Center to tour and learn about the variety of programs that they offer available to GHS students. Any 10th graders interested in attending the trip to learn more about specific programs need to see their counselor.
Permission forms will be distributed next week and are required to be returned by Monday, January 23rd. Please make sure you get your permission forms signed and returned to your counselors. Students A-L will attend the AM trip and Student M-Z will attend the PM trip.

Bearcats Esports is off and running for Spring Semester 2023!
A planning session was held after school on Wednesday for the upcoming, season with 21 students in attendance. Bearcat Esports participates in the West Virginia Esports League. Students will be competing in Rocket League, Overwatch 2, Valorant, and Smash. Final permission slips are due to Mrs. Ward or Miss Romine by Friday morning.
The current GHS Bearcat Esports logo was created and designed by senior triple completer, Connor McDaniel. The Esports launch has been spearheaded by 4th period Computer, App, and Game Design II students. Senior triple completer, Cody Parks, has been instrumental in serving as Team Captain during the fall semester. Thank you to Doug Kirkpatrick, TCS Technology Systems Specialist, for his support and technical assistance.

Spanish classes celebrated el día de los Tres Reyes Magos or Three Kings Day, on Friday, January 6. It is a Christmas celebration in January. Students were able to eat la Rosca DF Reyes and drank Mexican chocolate.

Frist semester exams are scheduled for 1/19 and 1/20. Exam exemption forms are available now and must be turned in by 8:00 am on Wednesday, 1/11. Late forms will not be considered. Details are available on the form and in the student handbook.

Attention Seniors and Parents/Guardians of Seniors planning to attend 2 or 4 year college needing to fill out the FAFSA and/or PROMISE application, there will be a representative from the WV Higher Education Policy on Monday 2/6 from 5:30-7:30 in Mary Battle to help you! Bring most recent tax return information to assist you in filling out the FAFSA.
Reminder- if you are or are going to be PROMISE eligible, you MUST fill out the FAFSA as well.
