
In just 5 weeks, GHS will celebrate Computer Science Week with a special, "Bearcat Hour of Code" event on Wednesday morning, December 7.
We're seeking community members, parents, alumni, and/or local businesses with related skills, careers, and interests for breakout sessions for our grade 9-12 students.

First Community Bank of Grafton visited Grafton High Business and Marketing classes this morning. Many topics were discussed, but the main topics were checking accounts, credits, and how to maintain a good credit score. Students enjoyed the presentation made by Lisa Pride, bank Manager, and Brooklynn Perks, Teller.

Tomorrow is Blue and Gold Day! Wear your Bearcat blue and gold to support our Boys' Soccer team going to the WV State Soccer Tournament and our Cheerleading Team as they go to Regionals this week. Go Bearcats!


There will be a Coat Drive starting today through November 11th hosted by Communities in schools. All Taylor County Schools and the BOE will be collection sites. Please help families in need by donating NEW winter supplies- coats, boots, gloves, hats, and scarves. The homeroom with the most points will win a pizza party. Chase designed the Turkey Trot artwork for race advertising and the event t-shirt. His Mothman designs have been submitted for the WV FBLA Pin Design contest. The pin design winner will be announced at WV FBLA State Fall Leadership Conference next week.

Thank you to Tom Devine and WVU Statler College of Engineering for hosting GHS interested juniors and seniors on Monday, October 24.
Students experienced a full agenda to learn more about cybersecurity, computer science, engineering, and esports. Students participated in two WVU student-led sessions about the WVU Artificial Intelligence Club and WVU Cybersecurity Club. Students were also able to tour the Innovation Hub and the wonderful equipment available for the development of projects. Students had a quick chance to see the Evansdale Library as they wrapped up a wonderful day on campus! Mrs. Ward and Ms. Romine served as teacher organizers and chaperones.

Congratulations to students, Chloe Beckner, Garrah Linsey, and Chase Bucklew for representing GHS on Thursday, October 20, at the 2022 FBI Teen Academy. 85 high school juniors and seniors from 30 schools from around the state participated in the academy held at the CJIS Division Complex in Bridgeport.
