Tonight, the GHS football team, the GHS boys soccer team, and GHS Cross Country runner Emily Viani were recognized by the Taylor County Board of Ed members. The football team made the playoffs this year, the soccer team won a Sectional title and a Big 10 Coach of the Year award for Coach Knight, and Emily Viani secured a spot at the state cross country meet. Pictured below are members of the football and soccer teams. Emily was not able to attend. Congrats coaches and athletes!



Holiday Break Info:
All Taylor County Schools will dismiss two hours early on Wednesday, December 22.
There will be NO SCHOOL for students December 23, 2021 through January 2, 2022.

Attention any students interested in skiing/snowboarding, we will be taking a field trip to Timberline Mountain on Friday, January 14th. This opportunity is only available to the first 45 students who sign up and turn in all of their information. This is a trip offered as an award for those in good attendance standing, so you are only permitted to attend if you are on the exam exemption list. Informational packets and permission forms provided in Livegrades messages and class specific Teams. If you have any questions, please see Ms. Wyatt.

The Therapeutic Services Program at Grafton High School has been awarded a Local Economic Development Grant through the efforts of Delegate Amy Summers. With this grant, the program will have the ability to enhance educational opportunities for students with the purchase of new equipment including hospital beds, patient care manikins, wheelchairs, an EKG machine, and phlebotomy supplies. In addition, a portion of the funds will be used to renovate the shower area in the skills laboratory. Delegate Summers personally presented the check to the Therapeutic Services Class on Wednesday December 15, 2021. Thank you Delegate Summers.

What a great evening at Grafton High School getting the community into the Christmas spirit! Shout out to Mrs. Duretha Mayle, the GHS choir, and the Entertainers for a wonderful evening!


This evening the Taylor Count Board of Education voted to remove the mask mandate immediately. Masks will be parent choice. Masks must still be worn on school buses. Additional information included in the vote will be shared when we receive a written statement.

Senior, Caleb Minear, was elected by his classmates (fellow "employees") as Riverside Designs December Employee of the Month. Riverside Designs is the Simulated Workplace for the GHS Coding, App, and Game Design Concentration at Grafton High School.
Caleb has earned an extraordinary industry-recognized Microsoft Office credential as a Microsoft Office Specialist Master (2016). Master certification requires Word, Word Expert, PowerPoint, Excel, and Excel Expert, and Access. He has earned Adobe credentials in Visual Design using Adobe Photoshop CC 2018 and Graphic Design & Illustration using Adobe Illustrator CC 2018. He has also passed the MTA Introduction to Programming using Python exam.
Caleb will graduate as a 2022 Triple CTE Completer in Coding, App, and Game Design, Information Management, and Management and Administrative Support.
Caleb is a member of the National Technical Honor Society. Caleb’s graduation plans are to attend Fairmont State University and major in Computer Science. He is an active teen leader for the Beulah Baptist Church. His classmates shared the following about Caleb: “He helps me quite a lot.” “Friendly, honest, and dependable.”
